New Bedford Rebrand

I was tasked with rebranding my hometown. New Bedford, Massachusetts, is famed for once being the leader of the whaling industry and being the wealthiest city in the world per capita. With a rich history, I wanted the new logo to represent New Bedford’s roots while keeping a balance of traditional and modern styles. I kept it simple in terms of the color pallet; Just blues and yellows. The imagery is modern but the typography is traditional. This was deliberate to parallel the ever evolving city and it historical downtown district.

Brochure

The Brochure was one of many deliverables that I created featuring the new logo and the over all new aesthetic. I wanted to be able to showcase the best of what New Bedford has to offer tourists in a clean and orderly way. It was important to me to have a page with a brief history of the city and how it has impacted history. Between leading the whaling industry and being the first free home of Fredrick Douglass, New Bedford was once “The city that lit the world” and it is worth noting. Along with that, I included a section that features activities and events that is happening around the city as well as, showcasing different food, lodging, and, transportation options.
